The app allows users to activate it through voice command by saying "eBodyGuard NOW" or by tapping the "Call 911" button. Once activated, the app immediately initiates a call to the nearest 911 Call Center while capturing the user's GPS location within a few feet. This information is then shared with 911 and the user's designated SOS Contacts, known as "eBodyGuards."
In addition to the call and location data, eBodyGuard begins audio recording the scene even before 911 answers the call. For those who opt for the eBodyCam feature, video recordings can also be securely stored in the cloud, ensuring that they cannot be deleted, destroyed, or altered.
The app also offers a Safety Card feature, allowing users to store specific information for record-keeping and transmission to 911. This includes details about family members, pets, medical conditions, vehicles, protection orders, and instances of anti-bullying, harassment, and stalking.
Furthermore, users can access the information from their 911 call, including the Safety Card and eBodyCam video, along with any additional documents uploaded after the call, through the ebodyguardcommunity.com website. A unique reference number is provided to access this information, which can also be provided to law enforcement for court proceedings.
